Canon paved a huge break through in Digital Film Making by 5D series and continued its success stories with its C series cinema camera line up suitable for both film and as broadcast cameras.

Now it has a new cameras EOS C 400 and C 80 Digital Cinema Cameras with interesting features.

Ace Cinematographer Santosh Sivan ASC ISC shot his recent project Manorathangal with Canon C 70 camera and lauded its portability and its features.

SICA has already sent invites to its vast members regarding a launch event to happen this Sunday 22nd September at Prasad Lab theatre saligramam chennai.

Timing between 10 am to 3 pm.

Many cinematographers are expected to be present along with Veteran DOPs Pc Sreeram, Santosh Sivan and Ravi K Chandran.

Features:

The C400 features a new 6K full-frame back-illuminated CMOS sensor, offering three native ISO levels (800, 3200, 12,800), which ensures exceptional performance across a wide range of lighting conditions.

The C400 is versatile, supporting Super35 and Super16 modes, while offering solo-shooter-friendly functions like Dual-Pixel CMOS AF II, built-in ND filters, and a compact, lightweight design.

It also supports internal recording in Cinema RAW Light and XF-AVC, delivering flexibility for both professional cinematographers and filmmakers.

EOS C 80 camera has similar features of C400 and its compact design suitable for a drone or gimbal as it is for a tripod.

The launch event will showcase cameras and its features, closer look into the advantages of EOS C series cinema cameras, footage shot by Santosh Sivan will be screened at the venue.
