SICA Annual General body meeting 2023!

SICA Annual general body meeting was conducted on August 13th 10 am at Prasad lab theatre Saligramam with many  members attended the meeting.

This AGM had many positive discussions and healthier suggestions.

On marking on respect to the departed souls two minute silence was observed…

Then SICA committee member Naga Saravanan  requested SICA President Karthik Raaja to give presidential Address and followed by Treasurer Sakthi Saravanan presented Audit report in detail of expenditures and  income sources generated with various technical activities done by CAM Benefit Trust.

SICA General Secretary Ilavarasu spoke in detail about the welfare and technical  programs conducted by SICA, He insisted that upcoming cinematographers to abide by union activities and rules, also to give respect for the fellow cameramans position…especially on NOC matter.

Many key points was put forward like issues currently faced by Television Industry cameraman and to find right solution, Main point of focus was the continuous shooting timing…and suggestions were put forward to take a legal route to validate the working hours.

Ilavarasu announced beneficiary list of members got LCF, Educational and Marriage gifts….to the new development SICA general secretary announced that on medical emergency members can avail monitory support from their LCF of any age.

A humble request been made to Senior (Life members) to pay their subscription dues pertaining to benefit LCF  program.

Ilavarasu also presented the details of new payment rules that has been approved with many efforts for benefit of associate and assistant cameramans.

The  payment details has been finalized by producer council for above 6 crores and Below 6 crores project to Assistant cinematographers

SICA has also prepared a pay slip type model which will benefit the above scheme.

FEFSI has suggested its fellow unions to conduct elections for every three  years as a term…current practice is for every two years.

As election process involves a considerable expenditure every three years would save money for the union…to accept this SICA members approval was asked….majority of the members voted for 3 years term for future and this was passed  to form bylaw.

Finally election was declared to be held on third Sunday October 15th 2023…!

Current body will function up to September second week.

SICA General Secretary Ilavarasu  made appeal to Cinematographers to donate a small part of their salary amount to the union that will encourage to do more beneficial programs for the members.

SICA will also conduct a exclusive event for its members on Godox series of Cinema lights on coming 20th August 2023 at Prasad 70mm theatre from morning 9.30 am to 1pm.
