SIGMA CINE LENS : superior vision

Sigma is a Japanese based family owned manufacturer of DSLR cameras, camera lenses and camera accessories. Founded in 1961, Sigma prides itself on high quality and innovative photographic equipment.

Sigma, makers of fine still camera lenses, has entered into this arena in the last year with both cine zooms and a remarkable set of very fast Cine Prime lenses. They are called FF High Speed Primes and they cost $3500 to $5000 each around 3 to 3.5 lakhs approx in INR.

They range in focal length from 14mm at the widest and 135mm at the longest. The 14mm and 135mm are T2, while the lenses in between (20, 24, 35, 50 and 85) are T1.5. You can get them in PL, Sony E, and Canon EF mounts.

The new Sigma Cine 18-35mm T2.0 High Speed Zoom Lens is among the fastest zoom lenses in the world. A full featured cinema zoom lens, the 18-35mm is a versatile, capable tool for capturing beautiful images.

As we see major announcement coming from RED, ALEXA, SONY  fascination for full frame cinema cameras. sigma cine lenses are suitable for full frame sensor lens coverage.

It has very minimal lens breathing and these lenses are in  Full Frame, High Speed, ridiculously small and incredibly light. Image quality is outstanding. These are not rehoused lenses. They come from the same factory where the superb Sigma Art DSLR lenses come from—the northern region of Japan—Aizu.

Sigma Cine lenses are  weatherproof and feature luminous paint marking for operation in the dark. Each CINE lens has 180 degrees of focus rotation, manual linear iris control, and electronic mounts for metadata.
