Our beloved Priyan was one among the rare professionals who created some great images in South Indian film industry.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Virudhunagar\u00a0 Priyan started working in K. Balaji\u2019s\u00a0 Sujatha outdoor unit as Camera assistant.<\/p>\n<p>He got his first independent break as a still cameraman in Pudhiya Mugam and then worked as a cameraman for the serial Revathi which was telecasted on Sun TV in 1994<\/p>\n<p>He later joined Rajiv Menon and soon became an independent Cinematographer in feature films. His initial works as DOP were Va Va Vasenthame, Thota chinungi\u2026<\/p>\n<p>In 1997, Director Cheran\u2019s Porkalam was one of the best Tamil films which had strong social message and Priyan\u2019s master class visuals brought the soul of village in earthy tones.<\/p>\n<p>He continued his association with Cheran as a Cinematographer for landmark films like Desiya Geetham,Vetri kodi kattu (national award winning film)<\/p>\n<p>Then he started working with various popular film directors and one famous association started with Director Hari and this duo continued to do nearly 14 films together.<\/p>\n<p>His latest film Singam 3 which was a box office hit had some dynamic visuals like 360 degree VR shots, one continuous long take starting as an aerial view of cityscape then travelling into the Long street of a road to an establishment shot of police station and then gliding into the hallway of interiors. All in a single shot brilliantly photographed using drone and the exposure matching all the exterior to interior lighting conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Priyan was serving as the Vice President of SICA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PC Sreeram, President of SICA <\/strong>expressed his thoughtful words about Priyan as<em><strong> \u201cyour concern for sica\u2019s welfare and its future will always be remembered by one and all.\u00a0You have always been special to me and to each and every member.
