His cinematography was commendable right from his first film Yudham Sei and his previous Tamil film &#8221;Theeran Adhigaram Ondru&#8221; had captivating visuals which received huge appreciation from all quarters.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4885\" src=\"http:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58-300x229.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58-300x229.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58-768x586.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58-1024x781.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58.jpeg 1120w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to SICA\u00a0 Sathyan informs that\u00a0 he was well aware about\u00a0 background of the story and the challenges would be to\u00a0 bring the period which is only few years back with Nostalgic touch.<\/p>\n<p>When he heard films narration his mind was filled with visuals of scorching sun and dry vast landscape, but when shooting happened every thing was different what he had in mind&#8230;especially the village locations had some green references and most important was climate was all overcast.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4886\" src=\"http:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58-1-300x248.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58-1-300x248.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58-1-768x636.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/thesica.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-02-15-at-00.15.58-1.jpeg 1023w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sathyan\u00a0 elaborates that his fine arts background helped him to bring the right color palette, while composing every frame he decided not to use any additional lights during outdoor sequences of Yaatra, he kept frames with Dominant whites, overall bathed with desaturated Amber\/ tobacco.<\/p>\n<p>YSR\u00a0 through his Yatra touched the lives of suffering people, through visuals Sathyan tried to keep things very simple and also powerful, he decided not to bring grandeur instead concentrate on emotional impact\u00a0 so Sathyan opted for\u00a0 Jimmy jib, flycam and regular crane moves.<\/p>\n<p>Sathyan says &#8221;We headed the film with\u00a0 large landscape shots. When we hold a shot past when you would expect a cut, it makes you go deeper into that moment. This film really strains to create a consciousness that does not tell the story as much as observe it. And these landscapes \u2014 very specifically in terms of the colors and the composition, and how they are held \u2014 they charge the atmosphere with a kind of consciousness and therefore a context with which to experience this story.
