Cannes one of the most oldest and top three best film festivals of the world. This year’s festival is the 76th edition of cinema’s biggest showcase, made up of screenings, press conferences and glamorous parties.<\/p>\n

About 80% of foreign films business is done at Cannes film festival every year<\/p>\n

\"CannesCannes is the world’s biggest film festival, first conceived in 1939 as an alternative to the then-fascist-influenced Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n

It has been held annually since 1946 except in 1948 and 1950, when it was cancelled due to lack of funds.<\/p>\n

The festival is known for its carefully selected programme of films that have gone on to Oscar glory or launched the careers of directors like Quentin Tarantino, In India Malayalam film Piravi Directed by Shaji N karun cinematography by Sunny Joseph won top honors at Cannes.<\/p>\n

There are several categories making up the official selection of films shown, the top being the “in competition” movies vying for the Palme d’Or prize.<\/p>\n

Due to take place from the 16-27th May 2023 is the 76th edition Festival de Cannes.<\/p>\n

“Les Filles d\u2019Olfa” (“Four Daughters”) by Kaouther Ben Hania<\/p>\n

“Asteroid City” by Wes Anderson<\/p>\n

“Anatomie d’une chute” (“Anatomy of a Fall”) by Justine Triet<\/p>\n

“Kaibutsu” (“Monster”) by Kore-eda Hirokazu<\/p>\n

“Il Sol dell’ Avvenire” (“A Brighter Tomorrow”) by Nanni Moretti<\/p>\n

“L\u2019ete dernier” (“Last Summer”) by Catherine Breillat<\/p>\n

“Kuru Otlar Ustune” (“About Dry Grasses”) by Nuri Bilge Ceylan<\/p>\n

“La Chimera” by Alice Rohrwacher<\/p>\n

“Perfect Days” by Wim Wenders<\/p>\n

“Firebrand” by Karim A\u00efnouz<\/p>\n

“Black Flies” by Jean-St\u00e9phane Sauvaire<\/p>\n

“Le Retour” (“Homecoming”) by Catherine Corsini<\/p>\n

Films screening out of competition include Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” and Harrison Ford’s return as the famed adventurer in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”.<\/p>\n

This year, several Indian films will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival, including Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy in the Midnight Screenings section.<\/b>\u00a0Other films include Agra, Firebrand, and Ishanou<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The festival\u00a0opens May 16 with French actress-director Ma\u00efwenn\u2019s costume romance\u00a0Jeanne du Barry<\/em>\u00a0starring Johnny Depp.<\/p>\n

The festival\u00a0closes May 27 with Pixar\u2019s\u00a0Elemental<\/em>, which will be accompanied by Pixar chief creative officer Pete Docter, director Peter Sohn, producer Denise Ream.<\/p>\n
