IFFI:Golden Jubilee year

50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa which takes place from 20th – 28th November 2019 is one of the most prestigious Film Event happens in India which provides gateway to the international films and also showcases best of Indian Cinema to the world.

As 2019 IFFI  marks 50 years, the festival aims at providing a common platform for the cinemas of the world to project the excellence of the film art; contributing to the understanding and appreciation of film cultures of different nations in the context of their social and cultural ethos; and promoting friendship and cooperation among people of the world. The festival is conducted jointly by the Ministry of Broadcasting and Information of Indian Government.

the IFFI was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru  on 21 February 1952 to encourage art cinema made in our country.

IFFI was conducted every year at different places like Mumbai, Kolkatta, Delhi, Chennai, Tirvendrum,Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

From 2004 IFFI was conducted at Goa as permanent venue.

Over films from 76 countries and 250 films will be screened over 9 days event.

Actor Rajinikanth was honored with Icon of Golden Jubilee Award and French Actor Isabelle Huppert been awarded with Life time Achievement Award.

SICA president P.C.Sreeram was honored as ‘legend of Indian Cinema’.

The International Film Festival of India 2019 (IFFI 2019opening  Film is from Italy :Despite The Fog. The film, directed by Goran Paskaljevic.
