ASC awards for best cinematography : 2022

The American Society of Cinematographers was founded in Hollywood in 1919 with the dual purpose of advancing the art and science of cinematography it is a cultural, educational, and professional organization that is neither a labor union nor a guild.

In the 1920s, the ASC began printing a four-page newsletter titled The American Cinematographer in 1920. According to the ASC, “The American Cinematographer covers the technology and artistry of visual storytelling, offering print and digital editions. Within this publication, a wide range of cinematographer and technical information was produced through a variety of means such as interviews, articles, blogs and podcasts.

Other than the magazine, the ASC also publishes the American cinematographers manual, The first edition was published in 1935 by Jackson J. Rose as The American Cinematographer Hand Book and Reference Guide which has multiple editions till date.

The American society of cinematographers has announced the nominations for its 36th annual ASC awards for 2022 via livestream  with the society nominating in the feature film category

ASC awards are one among most prestigious recognition for cinematographers and their  films, Winners will be announced during the 36th ASC Awards on March 20 as a hybrid event, both in person and livestreamed from the ASC Clubhouse in Hollywood.
