“Successful Sica General Body Meeting Marks a New Chapter of Leadership”

In a remarkable display of unity and enthusiasm, the Sica community recently conducted a highly successful General Body Meeting on a Sunday morning. The event drew a substantial number of members, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and camaraderie.

The highlight of the gathering was the induction of the newly elected leaders, each receiving a prestigious certificate of recognition from esteemed Senior members Kaniappan,Devisriprasad  and Raghunatha Reddy. The ceremony not only symbolized a formal acknowledgment of their roles but also marked the beginning of a new chapter for the organization.

At the heart of the leadership transition were the individuals elected to key positions – the President Karthik Raaja General Secretary Ilavarasu and Sakthi Saravanan Treasurer and new induction of  Their acceptance of these crucial roles reflects not only their personal commitment but also the trust bestowed upon them by the Sica community.

SICA president Karthik Raaja welcomed the gathering and invited General secretary Ilavarasu to chair the meeting.

Ilavarasu on the first note called upon ESI representatives to deliver their guidelines which was very important hour to start with.

SICA was happy to host representatives from the government at the General Body Meeting, shedding light on a crucial aspect of our professional lives – the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme. The session was dedicated to explaining how our members can unlock the benefits of the ESI central government scheme, specifically tailored for salaried individuals earning under Rs. 20,000/-.

The informative discourse covered various facets of the ESI scheme, emphasizing its relevance to our members and the tangible advantages it offers. From medical benefits to sickness and maternity coverage, the ESI scheme stands as a robust safety net for our workforce.

The representatives provided valuable insights into the application process, eligibility criteria, and the seamless integration of ESI benefits into our existing compensation structures. This initiative aligns with our commitment to the well-being of our members and underscores our endeavor to empower each member with knowledge that directly impacts their professional and personal lives.

Ilavarasu thanked them whole heartedly and said ” to move forward, let us leverage this newfound understanding to ensure that every eligible member maximizes the advantages offered by the ESI central government scheme. This session serves as a cornerstone in our ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare and prosperity of our esteemed association”

Then the session moved on to the disputes that was between three Tv cameraman on pending dues.

All the three cameraman point of view was heard and amicable solution was arrived with the participation of the members was unique factor of the day.

* Mutual agreement form- this is very important step to control confusion which arises during Television cameraman multiple camera operators or a new cameraman takes over the job… thorough this form the beneficiary’s can clearly state the salary they had agreed upon also precendor state of work ..when dispute arises this form will serve as a crucial evidence.

MUTUAL AGREEMENT

* Shooting diary – Google form where a DOP can always save his information about his shooting schedule, the nature of  problems that caused delay of the shoot, equipment issues with rental houses.

All these definitely will bring organised working culture and also serve as a proper evidence if any issues come by.

SICA has requested it’s members to follow professional methods on their approach towards handling projects,keep association informed and see that it doesn’t affect other cameraman job.

SICA proudly progresses it’s journey crossing 50 years of valuable contribution to Indian Cinema.
