Eye Excercise: Cinematographer!

Electronic revolution had brought many changes in lifestyle, especially mobile phones, Television and Computer monitors brightness  working with it for long hours definitely hurts our eye health and also creates many health issues like back and neck pain for lifetime.

Today’s cinema cameras are of LCD monitors which puts DOPs eyes into strain….and more problematics are Cameras with OLED eyepiece which puts more strain into the eyes and slowly eye may become less sensitive to chroma values.

Eye problems caused by computer use fall under the heading.. computer vision syndrome (CVS). It isn’t one specific problem. Instead, it includes a whole range of eye strain and discomfort. Research shows that between 50% and 90% of people who work at a computer screen have at least some symptoms.

Working adults aren’t the only ones affected Kids who stare at tablets or use computers during the day at school can have issues, too, especially if the lighting and their posture are less than ideal.

 As the profession demands we cannot avoid it but there is always healthy ways to minimise the damages caused by Eye strain.

To prevent eyestrain, try to rest eyes when using the computer or any gadgets for long periods. Resting the eyes for 15 minutes after two hours of continuous computer use. Also, for every 20 minutes of computer viewing, look into the distance for 20 seconds to allow the eyes a chance to refocus.

Solution to the above problems, especially for Cinematographers and DI colorists is to do eye Excercise regularly for few minutes,even during anytime if the day or even under working condition.

you can ensure that your eyes will be healthy in the long-term.  we’ll look at  to keep your eyes relaxed. Blink More! Blinking is very important for our eyes as it lubricates them and keeps them from getting dry. It has been studied that we tend to blink less when we are staring at a digital screen. The normal rate of blinking around 20 times per minute gets dropped to blinking 8 times per minute.

Moving eye balls from left to right and vice versa, moving eye balls up and down these can be done just few times at frequent rate.

Eye chech up for every one and half years is must.

Washing eyes with cold water and eating carrots can be beneficial.

Earlier before pandemic times..for years  legendary  B.Lenin and B.Kannan used to conduct free eye camp every month Second Sunday for all inclusive public people.

Now it is time for DI colorists and Cinematographers to do eye exercises regularly to keep their vision at good state.
